Operations Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to join our logistics and supply chain team. In this vital role, you will support the seamless flow of goods and materials through efficient warehouse management, transportation planning, and inventory control. Duties Assist with supply chain management activities, including procurement, sourcing, and category management to ensure cost-effective purchasing strategies. Support inventory management processes by monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and maintaining accurate records within warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms. Coordinate warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials handling to guarantee efficient warehouse operations. Manage transportation logistics by planning routes, scheduling freight shipments, and utilizing transportation management systems (TMS) for optimal delivery performance. Oversee warehouse operations such as picking & packing, dispatching, forklift operation, and packaging to meet customer demands promptly. Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and freight carriers to streamline freight movement and reduce costs. Analyze supply chain data using supply chain analytics tools to identify process improvements, enhance demand planning accuracy, and optimize inventory control strategies. Experience Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics roles with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution, transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Hands-on experience with inventory control techniques, demand planning, procurement processes, and category management. Familiarity with warehouse experience including picking & packing, shipping & receiving, materials handling equipment like forklifts, and warehouse management system (WMS) software. Knowledge of freight forwarding procedures including NVOCC operations and dispatching processes. Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret logistics metrics and supply chain analytics for continuous process improvement. Experience working with e-commerce fulfillment environments or in environments requiring meticulous materials management and sourcing strategies. Ability to operate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools or similar software for maintenance scheduling related to warehouse equipment is a plus.
