Gastro Florida offers G.I. screeningtreatment, colon cancer prevention, non-surgical cancer intervention, IBD infusionstherapy, nutritionweight loss services, monitoring between visits, pharmacypathology services, and the latest therapies, including clinical research, to provide an integrated patient experience. Our mission is to provide general and advanced/interventional gastroenterology services in an Affable, AffordableAccessible manner for Accurate Answers. We are seeking an experienced Procedure Scheduler to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, and able to integrate quickly with minimal training. These individuals will provide exceptional customer service while performing scheduling coordinator and medical receptionist functions. They will work under the direction of the division's Office Lead/ Practice Manager. High school graduate with 2 years of medical office experience, with at least 1 year experience performing in the role of scheduler, scheduling coordinator with medical receptionist experience . Must have the ability to multitask, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced medical environment. Preference may be given to candidates who have at least 1 year of specialty practice experience; candidates who have work experience from employers that emphasize excellent customer service (e.g. Publix, Disney, Chick-Fil-A).
Role:
Scheduling Schedule clinic encounters and procedures and if applicable special testing. Request PCP or referring doctor, authorization, office notes, and diagnosis codes related to the procedure(s). Respond to requests for medical records or other forms to be completed by providers. Prepare educational packets. Confirms case with surgery center and hospitals. Manage recall list. Recommend actions and strategies to improve patient access. Request Cardiac Clearances if required. Check-in Greet and arrive all patients in a courteous manner. Ensure patients complete the required documentation and their information (insurance, demographic, etc) is current. Enter appropriate data into the medical record. Collect any patient copayments and balances. Check-out Inquire if patient has any more questions from their visit. Alert supervisor if service recovery needed. Collect any co-insurance or balances not collected during check-in. Schedule follow-up appointments. Additional Billing/Telephone Patient registration functions if scheduling new patient. Charge capture of physician services as necessary. Maintain current with HIPAA and other compliance training. Reconcile daily charges and payments received; and prepare daily bank deposit. Assist in collection efforts via phone. Triage incoming phone calls in an effective manner.
