Project Scheduler — Pool Construction Craft Master Custom Pools West Palm Beach, FL Job Details Full-time $60,000 - $75,000 a year 11 hours ago Qualifications Phone communication Dispatching Calendar management Schedule creation Construction project planning Full Job Description About us Craft Master Custom Pools has been building custom gunite pools in Southeast Florida since 1994 — more than 3,000 pools across Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Broward counties. Here is the part most job postings leave out. This is a legacy company under new ownership, and we are writing our playbook one day at a time. The reputation and the craft are thirty years old; the systems around them are being built right now, by us, this year. Some of what you need in this role will not exist yet when you start — you will help build it. That is either exactly the job you want or exactly the one you don't, and we would rather you know which before you apply. The role in one sentence You own the master calendar. Every dig date, every trade, every inspection, across every active job. Why this role exists Right now our field supervisors schedule their own subcontractors. That means the people we pay to inspect steel before it gets buried in concrete are instead on the phone booking excavators. It is the single biggest drag on our build times. Your job is to take all of that off them. When you do it well, our supervisors spend their days on site, our subs show up on the right day to a site that is actually ready, and our build times drop by months. This is the highest-leverage role we are hiring this year, and it is a brand-new position — you will build it. What you own The master schedule. One calendar, every active job, every phase. You set dig dates and you sequence the trades behind them: excavation, frame and steel, plumbing, electrical bond, gunite, tile and coping, decking, equipment set, plaster, fire up. Subcontractor dispatch. You tell our trade partners when and where. You confirm they are coming. You know by Thursday whether Monday is real. Inspection scheduling. Setout, steel and gunite, rough plumbing, bonding and grounding, deck and coping, final mechanical, final building — called on time, with the site ready, across every municipality we work in. A failed or missed inspection is a week we do not get back. Phase-gate sequencing. You know what has to be finished, delivered, approved or inspected before the next trade can start, and you do not dispatch into a site that is not ready. Resequencing when things slip. Rain, a permit comment, a sub who no-shows, a material delay. The schedule changes constantly and you are the one who changes it — deliberately, communicated, same day. What we need from you Required 3+ years scheduling, dispatching or coordinating in construction, trades or field services. Pool experience is a bonus, not a requirement — we will teach you pools. You can read a construction schedule and understand dependency: what has to happen before what, and what breaks if it slips. You are comfortable on the phone all day, including the calls where you tell a subcontractor something they do not want to hear. Strong software skills. We run JobTread ; you will live in it. If you have used Buildertrend, Procore, Poologics or similar, that transfers directly. Organized under pressure. On any given day 50+ jobs are in motion and three of them are on fire. Strongly preferred Familiarity with South Florida municipal inspection processes — Palm Beach County, Broward, and the cities inside them Experience coordinating subcontracted trades rather than in-house crews Conversational Spanish — much of our trade base speaks it Who thrives here We can teach pools and we can teach our software. We cannot teach what is in this section, so we weight it heavily. You are comfortable without a map. You will hit situations where there is no established way to do something, and the answer will be for you to work it out, write it down, and propose it as the new standard. If you need a documented procedure before you will act, this will frustrate both of us. If building the procedure sounds like the interesting part, you will do well here. You want to grow and you say so. We are adding seats, not backfilling a vacancy. The people who join this year will carry more responsibility in two years than the job they were hired into. We want people who want that. You learn on your own initiative. Nobody here has time to spoon-feed you the pool business. The people who do well ask a lot of questions in month one, go find answers themselves by month three, and are teaching someone else by month twelve. You are team-minded, genuinely. This seat only works if the Construction Manager, the field supervisors, the permit coordinator and the project managers all trust you. That trust is built by doing what you said you would do, flagging problems early instead of hiding them, and caring whether the person downstream of you succeeds. We are a small company; there is nowhere to hide and no credit to be taken alone. You work hard and you own your outcomes. This is a real workload in a real construction business. We are not interested in hours for their own sake, but we are interested in people who finish things and who say so plainly when something has gone wrong.
Role-specific:
this job suits someone genuinely bothered by waste. If a subcontractor driving to a site that was not ready annoys you personally, you will be good at this. If you need every day to look like the last one, you will not enjoy it.
