KPIs Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and other reliability tools Experience working with technical or maintenance personnel Maintenance Planner Overview The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities for assigned plant lines, ensuring the availability of required labor, materials, spare parts, and outside services needed for successful execution This role works closely with maintenance, operations, production, supply chain, storeroom, contractors, and external service providers to ensure maintenance activities are properly planned, scheduled, resourced, and executed The Maintenance Planner will plan and schedule maintenance activities for assigned processes, packaging lines, and utilities while maintaining accurate maintenance planning and asset information in SAP PM The role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating maintenance plans, leading weekly planning meetings, monitoring maintenance backlogs and KPIs, and coordinating materials, labor, spare parts, contractors, and outside services The position requires regular plant-floor interaction, including daily walk-throughs to review equipment performance, identify maintenance requirements, and create or update SAP notifications as needed The Maintenance Planner will also support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies, reliability initiatives, Root Cause Analysis / Break Down Elimination activities, major maintenance activities, contractor services, new projects, maintenance training, audits, investigations, interviews, and the onboarding of new service and spare-parts providers Job Duties Plan and schedule maintenance activities for assigned processes, packaging lines, and utilities Maintain the maintenance planning database and ensure accurate asset information in SAP PM Manage and monitor planning and execution information for outsourced maintenance services Update SAP asset structures and maintenance information as required Develop, maintain, and communicate maintenance plans for upcoming weeks Lead weekly planning meetings for assigned lines and provide visibility to production stakeholders regarding upcoming maintenance activities Conduct daily walk-throughs of assigned plant areas to review the previous 24 hours of performance, identify additional maintenance requirements, and create or update SAP notifications as needed Ensure required materials, spare parts, outside services, and labor resources are available for planned maintenance activities Coordinate with maintenance supervisors to ensure the appropriate personnel are available to execute planned work Plan spare parts requirements and help ensure their availability while maintaining appropriate inventory levels Manage and monitor spare-parts inventory to maintain availability without creating unnecessary excess inventory Plan and schedule major maintenance activities in coordination with maintenance supervisors Generate and monitor maintenance KPIs requested by maintenance and plant management Develop and implement appropriate maintenance strategies, including Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Corrective Maintenance (CM), based on asset criticality and budget Participate in Root Cause Analysis / Break Down Elimination (BDE) for repetitive equipment failures and stoppages greater than 60 minutes when required Monitor maintenance backlog and verify that applicable maintenance orders and notifications are properly completed Support outsourced contractor services, including coordinating schedules, required materials, and execution activities Communicate with external vendors and negotiate service timing and availability as needed Participate in the implementation of new projects Support maintenance team training related to the planning process and work-management requirements Participate in technician and other maintenance-position interviews as needed Participate in investigations of accidents or quality issues, EHSS/QFS audits, and GEMBA tours when required Support the identification and onboarding of new service and spare-parts providers
