Summary:
Position Summary The Medical Scheduler is responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing provider schedules, and ensuring efficient daily operations within a healthcare facility. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and requires strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. What's in it for you? Medical and other insurance coverages 16 PTO Days annually (accrual) 8 paid holidays Dependent Care assistance 401K after 1 year of employment Uniforms provided after 90 days Key Responsibilities Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments Coordinate provider calendars and maintain accurate scheduling records Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral requirements Communicate appointment instructions, preparation requirements, and follow-up information Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage appointment reminders and reduce scheduling conflicts or no-shows Coordinate with clinical staff regarding urgent appointments and scheduling adjustments Enter and update patient information in electronic medical record (EMR) systems Assist with front desk or administrative duties as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous medical office, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology preferred Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software Skills & Competencies Attention to detail Time management Professional phone etiquette Problem-solving skills Team collaboration Patient-focused service Work Environment Medical office, clinic, hospital, or healthcare facility Primarily sedentary office work with frequent computer and phone use May require occasional evening or weekend hours depending on facility operations
Pay Range:
USD $15.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
