Job Description

Goodman Dermatology is a part of the AQUA Dermatology portfolio, offering comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services, as well as plastic surgery, vein care, and radiation oncology. The Patient Scheduler/Scheduling Coordinator serves as a liaison between Goodman Dermatology and its current and potential customers, assisting with appointment scheduling, accurately explaining diagnoses and treatments, and promptly scheduling/coordinating treatments as outlined by the providers. Answering inquiries, resolving problems, fulfilling requests, and maintaining the designated database.
Essential Functions:
Receives, logs, and tracks biopsy results for assigned locations/ providers in the practice. Schedules patients for visits with providers and coordinates referrals outside of the practice as directed. Coordinates with the patient regarding care plans prescribed by providers. Follows up with patients to ensure proper authorization, appropriate referrals, and service payment. Follows up on phone calls and voice messages in a timely manner. Documents all communication in detail in EMR and follows up as needed. Maintains logs with up-to-date information on patient biopsy results on a daily and weekly basis. Works effectively and efficiently in a team environment. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • This position requires a High School Degree or equivalent. Experience
  • Has 2 years of experience working in a Contact Center and familiarity with Medical Terminology and/or scheduling patient appointments. Prior experience communicating medical/test results to patients preferred. Proficient in the use of electronic medical records (EMR). Communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work Style
  • Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed—ability to analyze and interpret information, ability to interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.
