Red Oak, Iowa Red Oak Child Development Center is looking for a reliable, organized, and motivated Coordinator of Operations to help oversee the day-to-day operations of our childcare center. This position plays an important role in supporting staff, maintaining organization, ensuring compliance with center policies, and helping provide a safe, consistent, and high-quality environment for the children in our care. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced childcare environment. Primary Responsibilities Staffing & Scheduling Create and maintain staff schedules based on classroom needs, enrollment, and required staff-to child ratios. Monitor daily staffing and make adjustments as needed to maintain appropriate classroom coverage. Coordinate staff breaks, coverage, room assignments, and classroom transitions. Assist with staff placement and room transitions as enrollment and classroom needs change. Address scheduling concerns and communicate changes with staff in a timely manner. Classroom Operations & Ratios Monitor classroom ratios throughout the day and ensure appropriate staffing coverage. Assist with transitions between classrooms and ensure children are placed appropriately based on age, development, enrollment, and available space. Work closely with teachers to identify classroom needs and operational concerns. Help maintain consistent center expectations and procedures. Supplies & Inventory Maintain accurate inventory and monitor supply levels. Ensure classrooms are adequately stocked and communicate supply needs to appropriate staff. Help manage ordering and purchasing within the center's established budget. Staff Records & Onboarding Maintain accurate and up-to-date staff files and required documentation. Assist with onboarding new employees and ensure required paperwork is completed. Coordinate and track required staff trainings and professional development. Help ensure staff remain current with required certifications, training, and documentation. Enrollment & Child Records Assist with enrollment paperwork and maintain accurate child records. Ensure required enrollment documentation is completed and organized. Assist families with enrollment-related questions and center paperwork. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling staff and child information. Meal Planning & Food Operations Coordinate food ordering and maintain appropriate food inventory. Ensure meal and snack schedules are communicated to classroom staff. Help maintain appropriate food safety, storage, and sanitation procedures. Additional Responsibilities Serve as a resource and support for classroom staff. Communicate effectively with staff, families, and administration. Help identify and resolve day-to-day operational issues. Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming center environment. Support center policies, procedures, and licensing requirements. Be willing to step in and assist with center operations when needed. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has strong organizational and time-management skills. Is dependable and able to follow through on responsibilities. Communicates professionally and effectively with staff and families. Can prioritize multiple tasks and handle changing needs throughout the day. Is comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player. Has excellent attention to detail. Is able to maintain confidentiality. Has experience working in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field. Has leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Why Join Our Team?
