Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Scheduler + Admission/Discharge Coordinator, where your organizational skills and compassionate approach will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise in medical scheduling, health information management, and EMR systems will help streamline operations and enhance patient experiences. Duties Schedule patient appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring optimal utilization of provider time. Coordinate patient admissions and discharges by reviewing medical documentation, verifying insurance details, and facilitating smooth transitions of care. Review medical records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality. Communicate effectively with patients via phone and front desk interactions, providing excellent customer service while managing appointment schedules and answering inquiries with professionalism. Maintain detailed documentation review processes to ensure proper care plans are in place and all records are up-to-date within EMR/EHR systems. Support clinic operations through clerical tasks such as data entry, typing (including 10 key typing), managing medical records, and handling health information management responsibilities. Skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Epic, PointClickCare, or Matrix with a strong understanding of electronic health records management. Knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance policies, Medicare procedures, and clinical confidentiality policies aligned with HIPAA standards. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and administrative support tasks. Strong customer service skills with phone etiquette and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and healthcare providers. Clinic experience or medical office management background that demonstrates familiarity with front desk operations and medical scheduling. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Attention to detail in documentation review combined with organizational skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
