Cameron Hospital is a 25-bed, independent, not-for-profit facility that proudly serves Angola and Steuben County. Full-Time, 80 hours bi-weekly (Monday
  • Friday 8:30am
  • 5pm)
  • Off Site from Hospital (Washington Street, Angola)

JOB SUMMARY
Schedules outpatient appointments and pre-registers patients for their appointments according to established clinical guidelines, insurance regulations and regulatory requirements. Completes appointment scheduling with subsequent order entry, medical necessity checking and pre-certification screening. Qualifications Typing/keyboard knowledge. General Computer knowledge Ability to multitask and work in fast-paced environment Experience Two years scheduling in the Medical Field Skills/Competencies Clerical and phone skills. Good written and verbal communication Data entry Excellent customer service and phone skills. Medical Terminology preferred Education High school graduate Medical Terminology preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Schedules non-emergency services. Collects pre-admission information and pre-registers patients per the schedule. Verifies all scheduled procedures have a valid physician's order, if not, an order is obtained. Communicate with ancillary departments regarding schedule availability Provides back up for pre-registration/pre-authorization as needed. Reviews all procedures, emails and updates as needed. Checks for medical necessity.
