POSITION SUMMARY
Integral part of the Central Scheduling Team that provides full service central scheduling functions for all clients/physicians. Makes patients aware of necessary prep information while providing great customer service at all times.
J OB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Central Scheduling responsibilities include scheduling all outpatient and inpatient procedures for multiple departments. Effectively communicating scheduling information and preps to internal and external customers, while maintaining a focus on customer services and patient confidentiality. Work with patients, physicians, office staff and clinicians to obtain scheduling information and accurately schedule patient's procedures. Must be able to work Monday thru Friday, hours from 0830 to 1700 Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of various department operations Must demonstrate good organizational skills and ability to set priorities. Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively and compassionately with patients and family members Must be able to relate effectively as a team member. Must have knowledge of PC and networked computer applications Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of independent access to confidential patient and organizational information and must be abele to handle such information appropriately. Must have knowledge of medical terminology. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
High School Diploma Preferred:
Medical terminology coursework and/or medical certification program.
Minimum:
1-3 years call center experience with emphasis on customer service within healthcare setting.
Preferred:
5 years preferred experience in outpatient scheduling for multiple departments including experience and knowledge of
CPT/ICD 9-CM
codes
