Job Description

Job Purpose and Objectives:
Responsible for bookkeeping and clerical duties, as well as coordinating environmental/planning and zoning activities with various state, regional, and local agencies.
Essential Functions:
1. Maintains program data systems, including activity reports and records, accounting, special information files, and correspondence2. Routinely acts in implementing and monitoring environmental/planning and zoning programs and assists with field testing and review and performs site inspection3. Coordinates and schedules program activities and develops public education programs4. Maintains environmental supply inventory5. Records monthly expenses and receipts, maintains records, and processes vouchers6. Reconciles daily receipts and processes account billing7. Collects samples, performs water analysis, prepares analysis reports, and maintains appropriate records as required8. Conducts inspections and site evaluations for placement of septic systems, water wells, and property transfer evaluations9. Holds annual meeting to update each of the regional counties and handles the logistics of the meeting10. Maintains training records for each county participating in the regional HHW program11. Sorts waste for final disposal from Ellis County HHW and the other counties12. Assists with department information on website13. Maintains department information on website14. Assists with management of Household Hazardous Waste program15. Coordinates training with Solid Waste to ensure coverage in all areas16. Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances17. Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary18. Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures19. Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aids as required or needed20.
