Know Your Team:
The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, a part of a rich legacy of compassionate care since 1909, now offers 378 licensed beds, a history of innovation, and strong community support. Responsibilities Responsible for scheduling patient appointments from phone requests. Works with physician offices, patients, Health Center departments and all others in completing the scheduling function, including patient demographic information and insurance eligibility verification. Assures that proper patient records and film studies are available prior to the patients' appointments. Reminds patients of appointments and to bring prior records as appropriate. Contributes to efficiently of provider schedules by filling cancellations and rescheduling appointments when requested. Works under the supervision of the Clinic Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
One-year prior experience in medical office setting. Must type 40 wpm: proficient computer skills. Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal; interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients and their families, physician offices, nursing personnel and co-workers. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and coordinate more than one event at a time. Professionalism required. Must have knowledge of HIPAA rules.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Prior experience in physician clinic phone scheduling preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology.
