Job Description
Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital's WaKeeney Family Care Center & Business Office is looking for a full-time Centralized Scheduler Coordinator.
- Full-time position available Position Overview The Centralized Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling for hospital outpatient departments, provider clinics, diagnostic services, rehabilitation services, and other ancillary departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule patient appointments for outpatient clinics, specialty providers, rehabilitation services, imaging, laboratory, and other ancillary departments in accordance with provider schedules and departmental protocols.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, and general appointment inquiries.
- Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduling services.
- Obtain referrals and prior authorizations in accordance with payer requirements and hospital policies.
- Communicate with commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers regarding authorization requirements, medical necessity guidelines, and covered services.
- Coordinate with referring providers and physician offices to obtain referrals, orders, and supporting clinical documentation.
- Provide patients with appointment information, preparation instructions, financial responsibilities, and required documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High School graduate or equivalent 2 years of hospital billing experience including inpatient billing preferred. Patient and pleasant personality; ability to exhibit cooperation and flexibility; works well with a variety of people Must have excellent customer service and phone etiquette skills Detail-oriented and self-motivated with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
