Job Description
About the Opportunity Chipton-Ross is seeking a skilled Production Planner and Scheduler 2 to support aircraft modification, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This position plays a critical role in developing and managing integrated production schedules, coordinating labor and material resources, and ensuring contract deliverables are executed on time and within established requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with scheduling and planning experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment where their contributions directly impact mission success. Per Diem Available for qualified candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of the work location. Key Responsibilities Develop, build, and maintain Aircraft Modification and MRO schedules using Microsoft Project. Establish and baseline Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) in accordance with contract requirements and industry standards. Plan and coordinate labor and material resources across multiple departments to ensure efficient production flow. Identify critical path activities and schedule risks using MS Project and Structured Solutions Incorporated (SSI) tools. Monitor production progress and advise leadership regarding schedule status, resource constraints, risks, and material availability. Support contract execution by preparing reports, metrics, and briefing materials for senior leadership and customer stakeholders. Generate Contractor Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) reports in accordance with contract and DCMA standards. Collaborate with Operations to develop staffing profiles that support schedule requirements and specialized skill needs. Evaluate schedule impacts associated with customer-driven scope changes and newly discovered work. Coordinate closely with the Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) to support urgent and short-notice requirements. Present schedule assumptions, risks, and constraints during Induction Readiness Reviews (IRR). Publish and maintain Integrated Master Schedules within SharePoint environments. Assist departments with planning and coordinating production start dates for up to 2,000 tasks. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. 2-5 years of relevant planning, scheduling, production control, or related experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Project. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across diverse teams. Experience tracking project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements. Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Aerospace, aviation, aircraft maintenance, modification, or MRO environments. Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS). Defense or government contract programs. SharePoint reporting and schedule publication. DCMA standards and performance measurement processes.
