Monday-Friday, On-Site Position Type:
Temporary-to-Permanent Position Overview A well-established healthcare organization in the Hyannis area is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Scheduler / Medical Scheduling Coordinator to join its team. This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone looking to get their foot in the door with a stable healthcare organization and build a long-term career. The position is on-site five days per week and offers the potential to transition to permanent employment. Once permanent, employees are eligible for an excellent benefits package. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to comfortably manage a busy schedule while providing a positive experience for patients. Responsibilities Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately and efficiently Coordinate appointments based on provider availability, patient needs, and scheduling guidelines Answer incoming patient calls and assist with scheduling-related questions Make outbound calls to patients regarding appointments and scheduling needs Verify and update patient demographic and contact information Enter and maintain accurate patient and appointment information in the scheduling system Provide patients with appointment dates, times, locations, and any necessary instructions Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, providers, and clinical staff Work closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care Assist with appointment confirmations, cancellations, and schedule changes Help manage provider schedules and identify scheduling conflicts Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Provide excellent customer service while handling a high volume of calls and scheduling requests Assist with additional administrative and patient-service responsibilities as needed Qualifications Previous scheduling, administrative, customer service, call center, or healthcare experience preferred Medical office or patient scheduling experience is a plus, but strong customer service candidates will also be considered Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills Strong computer and data-entry skills Ability to learn scheduling and electronic medical record systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment Professional, patient, and compassionate demeanor Dependable and comfortable working on-site five days per week Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team Why Consider This Opportunity?
