Full-time, single shift (day) About the Role Sheaumann Laser designs and manufactures high-performance semiconductor lasers, with in-house operations spanning epitaxial growth, wafer fabrication, and optoelectronic packaging. We are seeking a Production Scheduler/Planner to bring visibility and discipline to our manufacturing flow. This is an immediate-impact role. Our backlog is strong and our shipment demand is high, but work-in-process is not always sequenced to maximize revenue-generating output. You will own the daily and weekly dispatch plan — knowing what every lot is, where it stands, what it needs next, and in what order it should run to convert backlog into shipments as efficiently as possible. This role does not manage people directly, but it carries real operational authority: the dispatch list you build and maintain is the authoritative plan for the production floor, backed by the Director of Operations. You will work closely with lead operators, engineering, purchasing, and sales to keep work flowing and commitments on track. Key Responsibilities WIP Tracking & Dispatch Build and maintain a real-time WIP tracker covering all open lots across every production stage (epi, fab, dicing, die attach, wire bond, alignment, test, burn-in) Develop and publish a daily/weekly dispatch list that sequences work by revenue priority and proximity to shipment; ensure every operator and lead has clear next-job visibility at all times Identify lots that are idle, stuck, or mis-sequenced and escalate to resolve; track idle time by root cause (missing material, engineering disposition, qualification gap, capacity constraint) Maintain lot traveler integrity and work order status in the MRP/ERP system Capacity & Delivery Planning Maintain a rolling capacity plan by operation; flag bottlenecks before they impact delivery Translate customer orders and sales demand into realistic production schedules; provide the Director of Operations and sales with accurate commit dates based on actual queue and capacity Coordinate with purchasing to ensure material availability is aligned with the production schedule; flag shortages early Track on-time delivery performance and report weekly; identify systemic causes of lateness and work with operations to resolve Cross-Functional Coordination Work with engineering and quality to ensure lots requiring disposition, rework, or engineering review are prioritized and resolved quickly rather than aging in queue Communicate schedule changes, hot lots, and priority shifts promptly to lead operators and the Director of Operations Participate in daily production standup; own the schedule portion of the meeting Support new product introduction by building routing and scheduling templates for new part numbers as they transition to production Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a production planning, production control, or manufacturing scheduling role Direct experience in a multi-step discrete manufacturing environment — you understand what routings, work orders, queue time, and lead time mean in practice Strong proficiency in Excel or equivalent tools for building and maintaining WIP trackers, dispatch lists, and capacity models Experience working with MRP or ERP systems for work order management and inventory tracking (Max, Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) Highly organized with strong attention to detail; comfortable managing many open lots simultaneously without losing track of status or priority Clear communicator; able to work effectively with operators, leads, engineers, purchasing, and sales Preferred Qualifications Experience in electronics, photonics, semiconductor, medical device, or other precision manufacturing environments

APICS CPIM

certification or equivalent formal training in production and inventory management Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts: pull systems, visual management, flow, constraint management Experience building scheduling systems from scratch or significantly improving an informal/broken planning process What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days A complete, accurate WIP map exists for all open lots across all production stages A daily dispatch list is published and followed; operators know their next job without having to ask Work is sequenced by revenue priority and proximity to shipment; high-value, nearly-complete lots are no longer sitting idle behind lower-priority work Delivery commit dates are based on real queue and capacity data, not guesswork On-time shipment performance is measurably improving
