Laboratory Operations Associate Job Description We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations & Laboratory Logistics Coordinator to support a growing laboratory operation during an exciting period of expansion. This role focuses on laboratory operations, logistics, inventory management, documentation control, shipping/receiving, and final quality review activities. While some hands-on laboratory work is required, the position is primarily operational in nature and is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating workflow and ensuring processes run efficiently behind the scenes. Responsibilities Coordinate daily shipping and receiving of laboratory samples, supplies, and materials. Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records to support laboratory operations. Perform final quality reviews of documentation, paperwork, records, and operational activities to ensure compliance and accuracy. Maintain sample tracking systems and chain-of-custody documentation. Support operational workflow across laboratory, quality, and operations teams. Ensure all shipping records, receiving logs, and inventory documentation are completed accurately and on time. Utilize ERP systems to track inventory movements, materials, and operational data. Support laboratory equipment operation and routine maintenance activities as needed. Organize and maintain laboratory storage areas to support increased capacity resulting from facility expansion. Identify opportunities for process improvements related to inventory control, logistics, and workflow efficiency. Assist with basic laboratory procedures when necessary to support daily operations. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. 1-3 years of experience in laboratory operations, logistics, inventory management, shipping/receiving, manufacturing operations, or a related environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience managing documentation, inventory, operational workflows, or quality records. Comfortable working in a regulated environment where accuracy and compliance are critical. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination. ERP experience (SAP preferred but not required). Hands-on laboratory experience, including pipetting, media preparation, specimen/sample processing and handling, and operating laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Experience supporting biotech, pharmaceutical, clinical, environmental, or manufacturing laboratory operations. Understanding of quality systems, SOPs, and documentation best practices. Work Environment The position is 20% laboratory-focused and 80% on the operations side. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in operations duties associated with an industry lab, such as the completion of batch records and Certificates of Analysis, performing quality control, and equipment and machinery monitoring. The environment is fast-paced and regulated, requiring accuracy and compliance with current Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
