MEDICAL SCHEDULER
Location:
Columbia, MD Pay:
$15.00 - $21.00/hour Work Environment Work is performed in a professional healthcare office environment with frequent interaction with patients, visitors, providers, and staff. This position requires sitting for extended periods, frequent telephone use, and computer-based work in a fast-paced call center setting. Schedule Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM On-site positionCompensation and Benefits Pay Rate:

This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Handle 60-100 inbound patient calls daily Schedule and reschedule patient appointments Process referrals and prescription refill requests Verify patient registration and insurance information Assist with billing-related inquiries and account collection processes Answer incoming calls and direct requests to the appropriate provider or department Support patient check-in and check-out activities as needed Maintain accurate patient information within the EMR system Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors Assist other office personnel with administrative duties as needed Required Skills & Experience Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting Previous call center or high-volume phone experience preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Experience working in a fast-paced medical environment Proficient computer and data entry skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Top Skills -Must Haves:
Medical/Healthcare experience Appointment Scheduling Customer Service EMR/EHR systems experience Call Center experience HIPAA knowledgeNice-to-Have Skills:
Epic EMR experience Medical terminology knowledge Insurance verification experience Patient registration experience Pharmacy Technician background Billing support experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
