(Jecho Labs), a dynamic drug discovery company at the forefront of developing cutting-edge therapeutic biologics, including monoclonal and multi-specific antibodies, cytokines, immunotoxins, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and fusion proteins. Our research spans a broad spectrum of diseases, with a primary focus on cancer, autoimmune, and metabolic diseases. Jecho Labs is in Frederick Maryland. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and dependable individual to join our Operations team. The qualified candidate will report to the Senior Director of Operations and support the daily operation of our research laboratories and facilities. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, adaptable, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The Operations Associate supports the daily operation of laboratory facilities, equipment, and operational processes to help maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant research environment. Working closely with the Senior Director of Operations and other team members, this position provides hands-on operational support and assists with coordinating vendors, service providers, and cross-functional activities that support laboratory operations. The Operations Associate will gain broad exposure to laboratory operations, facilities management, environmental health and safety (EHS), purchasing, and general business operations, making this an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation for a career in biotechnology operations.Essential Job Functions :
Assist with the daily operation, maintenance, calibration, and validation (where applicable) of laboratory equipment and maintain equipment usage records. Perform routine inspections of laboratory equipment and facility systems, including liquid nitrogen freezers, process gases, alarms, HVAC, and water systems, and promptly report any issues. Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, calibration, and service visits with vendors and contractors. Assist with laboratory space organization, equipment installations, and minor facility improvement projects. Maintain equipment and facility documentation, including maintenance logs, calibration records, repair documentation, and validation files. Support SOP preparation, documentation control, training records, and internal audit activities. Assist in maintaining compliance with laboratory safety, OSHA, environmental, and other applicable regulations. Provide operational support to laboratory personnel to help ensure efficient day-to-day research activities. Support purchasing activities by preparing purchase requests, tracking orders, processing invoices, and coordinating with vendors, Finance, and Administration. Assist with inventory management and maintaining laboratory and operational supplies. Support HR and Administration with onboarding logistics, laboratory safety coordination, and maintaining a safe working environment. Assist in troubleshooting routine laboratory equipment and facility issues and escalate more complex issues as needed. Respond to facility alarms or operational issues under the guidance of the Operations team. Perform other operational duties and special projects as assigned.Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- 0-2 years of relevant laboratory, operations, facilities, engineering support, or biotechnology experience. Internship or undergraduate laboratory experience will be considered.
- Basic understanding of laboratory operations, scientific equipment, and facility systems.
- Basic understanding of laboratory operations and scientific equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new equipment, systems, and operational processes.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools and willingness to learn laboratory equipment operation.
- Willingness and ability to work in laboratory environments, including standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.
