Master Scheduler PwrQ Holdings LLC Hanover, MD Job Details $90,000 - $107,000 a year 20 hours ago Qualifications Capacity requirements planning (CRP) MRP Bachelor's degree Production management software Full Job Description Position Summary The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environment. This role ensures that customer orders, engineering releases, material availability, and manufacturing capacities are synchronized to meet delivery commitments, optimize resources, and support business objectives. The Master Scheduler acts as the key liaison between Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and Project Management to translate complex project requirements into executable schedules. Key Responsibilities Develop and Maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS): Create and manage detailed production schedules based on customer orders, engineering designs, capacity, and lead times.
Coordinate Across Functions:
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Project Management to ensure alignment between design releases, material availability, and manufacturing execution.
Capacity Planning:
Analyze production capacity and resource constraints; propose plans to mitigate bottlenecks and balance workloads across multiple projects.
Demand Management:
Review and integrate order forecasts, change requests, and new project introductions into the MPS, ensuring schedule accuracy and feasibility.
Schedule Optimization:
Identify opportunities to improve on-time delivery performance, reduce lead times, and enhance throughput efficiency.
Change Management:
Manage the impact of engineering changes (ECOs), customer revisions, and supply disruptions on the master schedule; communicate and coordinate updates across stakeholders.
Performance Reporting:
Track and report key metrics such as schedule adherence, on-time delivery, backlog status, and capacity utilization.
Systems and Data Management:
Maintain accurate scheduling data within the ERP/MRP system; ensure BOM and routing accuracy for scheduling purposes.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive process improvements in planning and scheduling practices, leveraging lean manufacturing and advanced planning tools. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field. Minimum 5+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably in an Engineer-to-Order or Project-based Manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, BOM structures, routings, and capacity planning. Experience coordinating across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing functions. Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Experience in Epicor an advantage). APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred. Core Competencies & Behaviors Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work cross-functionally. Ability to handle multiple complex projects and shifting priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project). Working Conditions Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the manufacturing floor. May require occasional travel to suppliers or customer sites.
