Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Scheduler to join our team and drive the successful planning and execution of complex projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and communicating project schedules that align with organizational goals. Your expertise in project management methodologies, scheduling tools, and cross-functional collaboration will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead program development initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvements that elevate project performance. Duties Develop comprehensive project schedules utilizing tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Smartsheet, ensuring alignment with project scope and objectives. Coordinate with project managers, stakeholders, and teams to gather requirements and establish realistic timelines using requirements analysis and scope management techniques. Monitor project progress through earned value management and risk management practices; identify schedule variances and implement corrective actions promptly. Facilitate meetings to review project status, resolve conflicts, and update schedules; utilize meeting facilitation skills to ensure clear communication across teams. Apply process mapping, business process modeling, and lean methodologies such as Kaizen or Six Sigma to optimize workflows and improve scheduling efficiency. Manage dependencies, constraints, and resource allocations across multiple projects within a program portfolio management framework. Utilize project management tools like Jira, Confluence, Trello, or Workday for scheduling updates, documentation, and stakeholder communication. Conduct root cause analysis for schedule delays or issues; implement process improvements through continuous improvement practices like Lean Six Sigma. Collaborate with vendors and IT infrastructure teams to coordinate project implementation activities while maintaining quality management standards. Prepare detailed reports on schedule status, risks, and recommendations for executive leadership using technical writing skills and presentation skills. Experience Proven experience supervising or leading project scheduling efforts within a project management lifecycle environment. Strong background in project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile (SAFe), Kanban, or hybrid approaches; familiarity with PMBOK standards is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in utilizing advanced project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, VersionOne or similar tools for schedule development and tracking. Experience in program development, portfolio management, scope management, cost control, and risk mitigation strategies. Skilled in team leadership with a track record of managing cross-functional teams; excellent organizational skills are essential for effective time management and meeting facilitation. Knowledge of data analysis techniques including Excel data analysis and data collection methods to support schedule forecasting and decision-making processes. Familiarity with technical project & program manager supervisory experience is advantageous; ability to lead process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen principles is highly valued. Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement; adept at requirements gathering, requirements management, conflict resolution, negotiation, and technical writing. Experience working with various project management tools such as Smartsheet, SharePoint, ServiceNow or ERP systems enhances your ability to streamline workflows effectively.
