Job Description
Operations Assistant 15-25 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours Starting pay: $14 per hour, with higher starting pay considered based on experience and qualifications. Serendipity is looking for a dependable, organized, and flexible Operations Assistant to work closely with our Director of Operations and help keep Serendipity's day-to-day operations running smoothly. This position will support many of the behind-the-scenes tasks that keep Serendipity organized and operating efficiently. No two days will necessarily look the same. Some days may include office and administrative work, while others may involve assisting with projects, inventory, merchandising, store needs, or sales-floor tasks. We are looking for someone who enjoys being the person who helps get things done, notices what needs attention, and is willing to jump in wherever needed. Responsibilities Assist the Director of Operations with day-to-day business and store operations Help complete administrative and office-related projects Assist with organization, paperwork, reports, filing, and other operational tasks Help coordinate projects and follow up on tasks as needed Assist with inventory-related projects, product organization, pricing, transfers, or product preparation when needed Help with merchandising, displays, store organization, and other sales-floor projects Assist with preparing for events, promotions, seasonal changes, and special projects Help organize supplies and maintain efficient office and backroom areas Communicate with managers and employees when information or follow-up is needed Help identify and complete tasks that contribute to a smooth, organized workplace Step in to assist on the sales floor or with customer needs when necessary Support additional behind-the-scenes projects as they arise Help manage sales and aged inventory being offered through online sales channels, including identifying products to add, keeping track of what is listed and sold, ensuring inventory information stays accurate, and assisting with pulling, packing, and shipping sold items as needed. What We're Looking For Extremely organized and detail-oriented Dependable and able to follow projects through from beginning to end Comfortable working independently while also taking direction Able to prioritize when several things need attention at once Willing to take initiative instead of always waiting to be given the next task Comfortable working both in an office setting and on a retail sales floor Friendly, professional, and able to communicate well with employees and managers Flexible and willing to help with a variety of responsibilities Basic computer and technology skills Retail, administrative, office, or operations experience is helpful but not required for the right person This position averages approximately 15-25 hours per week . There may be opportunities for additional hours for someone who is interested in being cross-trained as a Sales Associate and helping with store coverage when needed.
