Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and maintaining the schedule for all professional and paraprofessional clinical staff assigned to clinical programs (home health, hospice and private duty).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates/schedules nursing, therapy, social work, chaplain, volunteer and aide assignments in an effective and timely manner; makes necessary changes to compensate for emergency situations and/or acutely ill patients. 2. Schedules client appointments/visits according to care plans and staff availability. 3. Proficiently uses clinical software to schedule all assignments. 4. Contacts care providers and clients regarding day-to-day changes. 5. Discerns client services required as outlined in agreements, urgent requests and care plans. 6. Maintains and creates various statistical and staffing records. Generates and submits reports as requested. 7. Performs general office duties including but not limited to word processing, photocopies, files, shreds, sort/distributes mail, provides reception and telephone services as needed.
Required:
High school diploma or GED. Computer skills including but not limited to MS Office, MS Excel and scheduling program. Basic medical terminology.
Preferred:
Prior scheduling experience. Two years of experience, preferably in health care.
