We are a fast-paced and patient-focused ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced Surgical Scheduler to join our clinical team full-time. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in ophthalmology and be confident in patient counseling , with the ability to clearly and thoroughly explain surgical procedures , lens implant options , and guide patients through their surgical journey with compassion and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule all surgical procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Conduct in-depth counseling sessions with patients about upcoming surgeries, including pre- and post-operative expectations Provide detailed explanations of various lens implant options , ensuring patients understand their choices Maintain communication with surgical centers, vendors, and insurance companies Prepare and complete surgical boarding paperwork accurately Act as a liaison between the surgeon, patient, and staff to streamline the surgical process Collaborate closely with the clinical and administrative teams to maintain seamless workflow Manage multiple tasks and patient needs in a high-volume environment
Qualifications:
Ophthalmology experience is required Strong verbal communication skills and patient education abilities Knowledge of cataract and glaucoma procedures is preferred Previous experience as a surgical boarder is preferred Familiarity with various intraocular lens (IOL) options and implants is strongly preferred High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent organizational and teamwork skills Must be a self-starter who is able to hit the ground running Proficiency with EHR systems and surgical scheduling software is a plus Must be
