This role performs operational reviews, exception item processing, ACH and wire activities, account maintenance, and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The role also assists Branch Accounting with correcting entries to accounts and general ledger entries as needed or requested. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Deposit Account Reviews & Maintenance Perform new account reviews to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations and bank policies. Review and process account maintenance and change requests, ensuring timely and accurate implementation. Conduct reviews of recently closed accounts and investigate exceptions or irregular activity. Monitor account documentation and follow up on outstanding items as needed. Exception Item Processing Review, decision, process, and track Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) items in accordance with established policies and procedures. Review and process stop payment requests and related exceptions. Research and resolve deposit-related discrepancies, exceptions, and customer inquiries. Mobile Deposit & Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) Review Mobile Deposit and Remote Deposit Capture transactions for fraud, duplicate deposits, and policy compliance. Identify suspicious activity and escalate concerns to management or appropriate departments. Monitor deposit limits, exceptions, and operational risk indicators. ACH Operations Process daily ACH transactions, including returns, notifications of change, exceptions, DNE's and research requests. Ensure ACH activities are completed within regulatory and network deadlines. Investigate and resolve ACH-related discrepancies and customer issues. Wire Transfer Processing Process incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfers. Verify transaction accuracy and authorization requirements. Maintain compliance with bank security procedures, OFAC requirements, and applicable regulations. Reconciliation & Balancing Perform daily, monthly, and periodic general ledger and account reconciliations. Research and resolve out-of-balance conditions and reconciling items. Prepare reports and maintain documentation supporting reconciliations. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure operational activities comply with applicable banking regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements. Maintain complete and accurate records for audits, examinations, and quality control reviews. Assist with operational audits, regulatory examinations, and corrective action responses as needed. Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and risk mitigation. Team Collaboration Provide operational support and guidance to branch and customer service personnel. Assist with training related to deposit operations procedures and systems. Participate in department projects, system testing, conversions, and process improvement initiatives. Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of deposit operations and banking regulations. Knowledge of ACH, wire transfer, RDC, mobile deposit, and exception item processing. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize workload and meet established deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information. Education and Preferred Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2-5 years of banking operations, deposit operations, or related financial institution experience preferred. Experience with ACH processing, wire transfers, deposit operations, account maintenance, and reconciliations preferred. Working Conditions Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
