JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Radiology Scheduler to support a high-volume diagnostic services department at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, Minnesota. The Radiology Scheduler will coordinate imaging appointments, manage scheduling requests, verify patient information, and support efficient patient flow. The department schedules approximately 150 appointments and transactions each day across a team of three to five schedulers. Candidates do not need experience scheduling every imaging modality. Applicants with experience scheduling several modalities may be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule radiology and diagnostic imaging appointments accurately and efficiently. Coordinate appointments based on provider availability, department schedules, preparation requirements, and patient needs. Schedule imaging services such as CT, MRI, X-ray, echocardiogram, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, and PET/CT. Review orders and patient information for accuracy and completeness. Verify required authorizations, referrals, and insurance information when applicable. Provide patients with appointment details, preparation instructions, and relevant scheduling information. Use electronic scheduling systems to document appointments and update patient records. Communicate with patients, providers, clinical staff, and other departments to resolve scheduling issues. Manage a high volume of scheduling requests while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Support a positive patient experience in a fast-paced diagnostic services environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least one year of direct radiology or imaging scheduling experience. Experience scheduling at least one or more diagnostic imaging modalities. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage high-volume scheduling activity accurately. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work 100% onsite in Shakopee, MN.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Epic scheduling systems. Epic Radiant or Excellian experience is highly preferred. Prior authorization experience. Experience scheduling multiple imaging modalities. Experience handling approximately 100 or more scheduling transactions per day.
