Non-Exempt Shift•Day Position Summary Raleigh Medical Group is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our patient services team. The Scheduler serves as the first point of contact for many of our patients and plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while coordinating patient appointments and supporting daily office operations. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced medical environment, and can efficiently manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Essential Responsibilities Answer and direct incoming telephone calls professionally and efficiently. Return patient phone calls in a timely manner when appropriate. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments. Enter and update patient demographic information accurately. Process patient requests received through the patient portal and website. Submit new patient requests to the appropriate provider through the electronic health record (EHR) system. Verify insurance eligibility using the Phreesia system for same-day appointments. Process prescription refill requests by forwarding messages to nursing staff through the EMR. Collaborate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated patient care. Attend departmental meetings and participate in customer service and team training. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of medical office experience. Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Proficiency with standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. Preferred Previous scheduling experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting. Experience with insurance verification and patient registration. Physical Requirements Sit for much of the workday. Frequently walk and stand throughout the office. Occasionally lift, bend, and reach. Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
