In this vital role, you will coordinate patient appointments, manage scheduling workflows, and ensure seamless communication between patients, providers, and administrative staff. Your expertise will help optimize clinic operations, improve patient experience, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and accuracy. Duties Schedule patient appointments efficiently across multiple EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and other EHR platforms. Confirm patient details, verify insurance coverage, and update medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations. Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate appointment availability, rescheduling, and cancellations as needed. Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy; assist with documentation review and coding processes including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding. Manage patient inquiries via phone or electronic communication with professional phone etiquette; provide exceptional customer service at the front desk or over the phone. Maintain organized medical records, files, and electronic health records management systems; ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Support medical billing processes by verifying insurance information, assisting with claim submissions, and following up on outstanding collections related to medical collection efforts. Assist in preparing care plans and documenting clinical notes while ensuring all data entry complies with health information management standards. Skills Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks; proficiency in Electronic health records management is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare guidelines, and health insurance policies. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently. Prior clinic or medical office experience with a focus on scheduling, administrative support, or front desk responsibilities in a healthcare setting. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies; attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping. Exceptional organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; strong phone communication skills with professional phone etiquette. Knowledge of dental clinic operations or experience in medical coding enhances your suitability for this role.
