We are a long-established racing fuel and performance-products business in Winston-Salem, NC. This is a small-company environment where employees help in different areas as needed. We are looking for someone who is comfortable moving between different types of work during the day rather than doing the same task all day.
Responsibilities include:
Answer phones, take customer orders, and assist walk-in customers Enter customer tickets and perform basic computer work Pump race fuel into drums and jugs Prepare orders for UPS and freight-carrier shipments Receive and put away incoming products Operate a forklift Load and unload drums, pallets, and other products Help with shipping, receiving, loading, and general warehouse work Keep work areas reasonably organized Follow up with existing customers and maintain customer relationships Help with other normal day-to-day tasks as needed What we're looking for: We are less concerned about having experience in every part of the job than we are about finding someone with good work habits. The right person should be dependable, comfortable dealing with customers, willing to work both inside and in the warehouse, and comfortable with basic computer work. Experience with Sage, Excel, or similar programs is helpful but not required. Most importantly, this position requires someone who can work without needing to be continually given the next assignment. When immediate work is caught up, we expect the person to look for useful things that need attention—help another employee, organize or prepare for upcoming work, or follow up with customers. Experience in customer service, industrial supply, automotive or truck parts, equipment rental, shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, racing, or a similar small-business environment would be helpful. You do not need experience in every area. We can teach our products, fuel-handling procedures, and computer/order system. This position may be a particularly good fit for someone who has worked in a smaller business where employees handled several different responsibilities rather than one narrowly defined job.
