GENERAL SUMMARY:
Facilitates patient access to care by scheduling appointments, procedures, and admissions accurately and efficiently. Collects and documents demographic, insurance, and appointment information while coordinating with patients, provider offices, and internal teams. Communicates preparation instructions, arrival details, and financial expectations to support care readiness. Delivers consistent customer service while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with established policies.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  • Schedules outpatient, inpatient, and procedural appointments based on provider orders and patient preferences.
  • Collects and enters accurate demographic, insurance, and appointment information into electronic systems.
  • Communicates preparation instructions, arrival details, and followup information to patients or representatives.
  • Receives and processes referrals and physician orders through phone, fax, or electronic workflows.
  • Coordinates with provider offices and departments to resolve missing or incomplete scheduling information.
  • Responds to inbound and outbound calls, messages, and inquiries using approved communication tools.
  • Supports preregistration activities, including outbound calls and verbal consent as applicable.
  • Identifies uninsured or selfpay patients and initiates referral to financial assistance resources.
  • Maintains productivity, quality, and service standards in a fastpaced scheduling environment.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in healthcare scheduling, patient access, or customer service operations preferred. Must be 19 years of age to witness legal consents.
