Farm Operations & Agronomy Associate Walters Ag, LLC - Shickley, Nebraska Full-Time | Permanent Position Walters Ag, LLC is hiring a Farm Operations & Agronomy Associate to join our fourth-generation family farming operation near Shickley, Nebraska. In this role, you will be involved in the day-to-day operation of a 2,700-acre farm raising seed corn, commercial corn, and soybeans. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys farming and equipment operation but also wants the opportunity to develop skills in agronomy, precision agriculture, drone application, and agricultural sales . You will operate late-model Case IH equipment for planting, tillage, fertilizer application, spraying, mowing, harvest, and other field operations while also assisting with crop scouting, soil and tissue sampling, irrigation, recordkeeping, and equipment maintenance. This isn't strictly an equipment-operator position. While farm operations are the core of the job, we're looking for someone who wants to learn more of the business and potentially take on greater responsibility over time. In addition to our farming operation, Walters Ag operates an agricultural sales business representing Beck's Hybrids, Pivot Bio, Meristem, and BRANDT , along with an agricultural drone spraying enterprise. We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, comfortable taking responsibility, mechanically inclined, and interested in agricultural technology . We are willing to train the right person. What You Will Be Doing Operate late-model Case IH tractors and farm equipment Assist with tillage, planting, fertilizer application, spraying, mowing, and harvest Haul grain from the field to the farm and from the farm to grain terminals Assist with crop spraying, irrigation, and other seasonal crop-production activities Perform crop scouting throughout the growing season Collect soil and tissue samples Assist with other agronomic fieldwork Utilize agricultural and precision technology as part of day-to-day farm operations Complete farm operations recordkeeping and clerical duties as needed Perform general equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair Assist with fencing and other general farm duties as needed Assist with seed dealership operations Work independently on assigned tasks and alongside the rest of our team This Job Is for You If You Have A 2- or 4-year degree in agriculture is preferred, but relevant farm, agronomy, equipment, or agricultural work experience is equally valued An agricultural background or previous farm experience preferred Experience or interest in operating farm equipment Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment repairs Comfortable using and learning agricultural technology Ability to work independently, take responsibility for assigned tasks, and follow through to completion Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to work outdoors and lift 50-100 pounds Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record CDL preferred, but not required FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is a plus, but not required Commercial Pesticide Applicator License is a plus, but not required Schedule Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:30 PM , with additional hours and weekends as needed during planting, spraying, harvest, and other busy seasons. This is a full-time, permanent position with an established family farming operation. Pay:

$40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
