(DESI) is a multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm providing Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Special Inspection, Instrumentation & Monitoring, and Construction Support services throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Position Overview DESI is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage the day-to-day scheduling and coordination of inspectors across the firm. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that qualified inspectors are properly scheduled and dispatched for Special Inspections, Environmental Inspections, and other field inspection assignments based on project requirements and client requests. The Scheduler will serve as a central point of coordination between inspectors, project managers, clients, and internal teams. The position will also be responsible for tracking the completion of field assignments, reviewing inspection reports for completeness, and ensuring reports are submitted to the appropriate project managers in a timely manner. Recent Civil Engineering graduates and junior candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 2+ years of relevant engineering, construction, inspection, or scheduling experience are preferred. Key Responsibilities Manage daily and weekly scheduling of inspectors across DESI projects Schedule and coordinate with inspectors Assign inspectors based on project requirements, qualifications, certifications, availability, and location Coordinate schedule changes, cancellations, emergency requests, and additional inspection coverage Communicate daily assignments and project requirements clearly to field inspectors Coordinate with project managers and clients regarding inspection requests, schedules, and changes Maintain an organized master schedule of all active field inspection assignments Track inspector availability, project assignments, and coverage requirements Follow up with inspectors to ensure assigned inspections are completed as scheduled Collect and review daily inspection reports for completeness, accuracy, required project information, and supporting documentation Identify missing or incomplete information and coordinate with inspectors for corrections Submit completed inspection reports to the appropriate project managers and internal teams Track outstanding reports and ensure timely submission Maintain inspection logs, scheduling trackers, timesheets, and related project documentation Assist project managers with coordination between field personnel, clients, laboratories, and internal engineering teams Escalate scheduling conflicts, staffing shortages, project issues, or reporting delays to management Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering/construction field is required Recent graduates and junior-level candidates are welcome to apply 2+ years of experience in civil engineering, construction, inspection coordination, field operations, or scheduling is preferred Basic understanding of civil engineering, construction, and inspection processes Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to coordinate multiple inspectors and projects simultaneously Strong attention to detail when reviewing inspection reports and project documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and scheduling/tracking tools Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where field schedules may change throughout the day Must be willing to work fully on-site in North Brunswick, NJ Benefits Competitive compensation Health, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) Paid time off, sick leave, and holidays Training and professional development Career growth within an engineering and construction environment
