Job Description

As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking an Investment Strategy & Portfolio Operations Associate to support the evolution of our investment platform while helping deliver an exceptional client experience. This role serves as a key partner to the Director of Investments & Planning and the firm's Investment Committee, supporting the research, execution, and implementation of strategic investment initiatives. The individual will help evaluate investment opportunities, enhance portfolio management processes, and contribute to the continued advancement of the firm's investment capabilities. In addition to strategic investment responsibilities, this individual will provide cross-functional support to Investment Operations during periods of increased activity, ensuring continuity of service and operational excellence across the department. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly organized, detail-oriented, and energized by both strategic thinking and execution. They enjoy solving complex problems, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, and working collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced, client-centered environment. Core Responsibilities 1. Investment Strategy & Committee Support Serve as a strategic support partner to the Director of Investments & Planning and the firm's Investment Committee. Prepare research, analysis, meeting materials, and investment recommendations for committee review. Assist with evaluating investment opportunities, including: Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) Alternative investments and Private Equity offerings Option strategies and portfolio overlays New investment products and platforms Monitor market trends, investment research, and industry developments. Support investment due diligence and documentation. Assist with implementation of approved investment strategies across client portfolios. Track investment committee initiatives and ensure timely execution of action items. 2. Portfolio Management & Business Optimization Help oversee initiatives that improve the management of the firm's book of business. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve portfolio efficiency, scalability, and consistency. Support portfolio reviews, investment reporting, and client analysis. Develop and maintain investment-related dashboards, reports, and internal tracking tools. Participate in process improvement initiatives that increase operational effectiveness. Collaborate with advisors on investment planning projects and portfolio implementation. 3. Investment Operations Partnership Develop a strong working knowledge of the firm's investment operations processes. Provide operational support during periods of high client activity or increased workload. Assist with account maintenance, money movement requests, account opening support, and operational workflows as needed. Partner closely with the Investment Operations Lead to ensure smooth execution and timely client service. Cross-train across operational functions to provide redundancy and business continuity. Help identify opportunities to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency. 4. Technology, Process Improvement & Data Management Utilize firm technology and investment platforms to improve workflows and reporting. Assist in evaluating new technology solutions that enhance the investment experience. Maintain accurate investment records and documentation. Support automation initiatives and operational best practices. Help document and maintain investment-related standard operating procedures. Ensure data integrity across investment systems and reporting platforms. 5. Team Collaboration & Leadership Support Collaborate closely with advisors, planning professionals, and operations team members. Communicate proactively regarding project status, priorities, and deadlines. Anticipate needs and effectively manage upward by keeping leadership informed of progress and potential challenges. Contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service. Support strategic firm initiatives as the organization continues to grow. Key Success Metrics Success in this role will be measured by: Effective support of Investment Committee initiatives Timely execution of strategic investment projects Quality and accuracy of investment research and analysis Improvement of portfolio management processes Operational readiness and cross-functional support Attention to detail and accuracy in investment documentation Responsiveness to advisors and internal team members Continuous process improvement and operational efficiency Positive contribution to firm culture and collaboration Qualifications & Capabilities Required Minimum of three years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, investment operations, or investment management. Series 7 license (or ability to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe). Securities registrations appropriate to the role (such as Series 66 or equivalent, where applicable). Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. High level of ownership, initiative, and accountability. Comfortable working with financial technology, reporting platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to effectively prioritize, manage upward, and work independently.
