Job description Busy med/surg office has an immediate opening for a full-time Surgical Scheduler / Preauthorization / Insurance Specialist. We are looking for highly energetic, enthusiastic, friendly, detail oriented and most importantly reliable and experienced person.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Schedules office, surgery center medical procedures, for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot, utilizing appropriate scheduling code. Pre-authorizes surgeries through insurance companies and schedules procedures at the designated facility and accurately enters information into the schedule by system. The ideal candidate will possess strong professional service skills and the ability to prioritize & multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with insurance verification and authorizations. Working knowledge of medical insurance and billing functions. Verify patient coverage and benefits. Verifies and enters patient demographics in the management system Understands and implements office procedure. Perform other duties/tasks as requested by providers, coordinators, and management in accordance with office procedures/policies. Maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling patient's medical records and information Must demonstrate competencies applicable to the job position. Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the phone and establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff and other customers. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively. Performs other position related duties as assigned.
