Job Description

Staff Scheduler (CNA) The Staff Scheduler (CNA) is responsible for coordinating and maintaining nursing staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage in compliance with federal regulations, Nevada state requirements, and facility policies. This position also provides direct nursing care to residents in accordance with the scope of practice defined by the Nevada State Board of Nursing and applicable federal guidelines, including those set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, clinical competence, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing leadership. Essential Job Duties Staff Scheduling Responsibilities Prepare, post, and maintain master schedules for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs). Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet resident acuity and regulatory requirements. Manage daily call-offs and arrange replacement coverage as needed. Monitor overtime and agency usage to control labor costs. Maintain accurate staffing records in accordance with CMS and state survey requirements. Coordinate with HR for onboarding schedules and tracking certifications. Ensure all licensed staff maintain current Nevada licensure and required certifications. Clinical (CNA) Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in accordance with resident care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitor residents' conditions and report changes to the RN or physician. Document care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Participate in care plan meetings as assigned. Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols. Regulatory Compliance Ensure staffing meets minimum standards set by CMS and the State of Nevada. Maintain compliance with OBRA regulations for long-term care facilities. Assist with preparation for state surveys and audits. Adhere to HIPAA privacy standards. Qualifications Education & Licensure Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Current, active CNA license in the State of Nevada. Current CPR certification. Experience Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (preferred). Previous scheduling or staffing coordination experience (preferred). Experience with scheduling and EMR software systems.
