Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Senior Center Transportation Scheduler to join our team! In this vital role, you will coordinate and optimize transportation services for our community members, ensuring timely, efficient, and safe travel arrangements. Your expertise in transportation management systems, logistics, and communication will drive seamless operations, enhancing the mobility and independence of those we serve. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through meticulous planning, data analysis, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Responsibilities Develop and manage daily transportation schedules using advanced transportation management systems to ensure optimal routing and resource utilization. Coordinate with drivers to assign pickups, drop-offs, and special transportation requests efficiently. Maintain accurate data entry for all transportation activities. Communicate effectively with clients and team members through multi-line phone systems while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and professionalism. Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements in transportation planning and logistics workflows.
Requirements:
Proven experience with transportation management system platforms. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data related to supply chain logistics, freight movements, and fleet operations. Familiarity with GPS tracking, GIS mapping tools, and route optimization software. Knowledge of dispatching procedures for freight transport within a 3PL environment or similar logistics setting. Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with clients and team members. Proficiency in data entry Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Basic understanding of transportation planning principles within supply chain contexts; familiarity with logistics concepts is a plus. Compensation will be based on experience with a range of $20.00 - $24.00 per hour. Normal senior center hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Transportation hours are typically from 8:00am to 2:30pm but may be subject to change. The position has a maximum of 28 hours per week or less.
