About the Position Transport Assistance, Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Senior Transport Dispatcher/Scheduler to coordinate the daily operations of our non-emergency medical transportation services. This is a key position responsible for scheduling and dispatching drivers, monitoring daily transportation operations, responding to changing schedules, and providing leadership and support to our drivers. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who can remain calm under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and communicate professionally with customers and staff. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily transportation routes using routing and scheduling software. Schedule recurring transportation routes in advance. Make real-time adjustments for cancellations, no-shows, vehicle breakdowns, emergency trips, and driver absences. Assign drivers and vehicles based on customer needs, route efficiency, and vehicle availability. Monitor dispatch operations throughout the day to maintain on-time service. Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during dispatch hours. Respond professionally to customers, families, case managers, and drivers. Coordinate will-call trips and daily schedule changes. Assist with driver scheduling, staffing, and operational coverage. Monitor driver performance, route efficiency, and schedule adherence. Ensure drivers have required vehicles, fuel cards, tablets, safety equipment, and documentation. Assist with morning driver start-up procedures. Provide backup driving support when operational needs require. Coordinate with vehicle repair vendors regarding fleet maintenance. Review operational reports and assist management with staffing and fleet planning. Report operational incidents to management and maintain accurate documentation. Assist with vehicle preparation during inclement weather. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous dispatching, transportation scheduling, logistics, or operations experience preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience highly desirable. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Comfortable using computers and scheduling software. Ability to remain calm and professional when operational demands change. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
