Job Description

SUMMARY:
This position requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Good clerical ability is a must. Person is responsible for obtaining accurate information to schedule services. In addition, person is responsible for timely verification of medical insurance benefits, calling private insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid to obtain benefit information, determining insurance compatibility with health care provider. Understands and upholds the basic philosophies of registration functions, revenue cycle and accounts receivable. Maintains current knowledge of and adheres to payer and regulatory guidelines for medical insurance claims processing and reimbursement. QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent Medical Terminology Business/Healthcare Related Associate Degree Preferred 2 years previous experience in Registration/Patient Accounts or Physician billing office required or combination of experience/education. Previous office experience, prefer background knowledge of health insurance, Medicare/Medicaid plans. Typing, computer skills, attention to detail and excellent customer service skills required.
