Entry-Level to Mid-Experienced Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and professional Scheduler to join our busy ophthalmology practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and customer service. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Schedule pre-operative testing, laser surgery, and post-operative appointments effectively Verify that required consents are obtained before surgery Schedule routine clinic appointments Serve as backup support for insurance benefit verification and prior authorizations (PAs) for clinic visits when the primary staff member is unavailable or additional support is needed Obtaining and verifying patient information, including contact and insurance details Greet and check patients in and out in a friendly and professional manner Answering and directing telephone calls with excellent phone etiquette Collecting patient payments and processing transactions Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional reception area Supporting office compliance, including maintaining HIPPA and OSHA standards Traveling 1-2 times per month to our Newport and Florence locations Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate will possess: Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent problem-solving abilities Professional and courteous phone etiquette Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment A friendly, patient-focused demeanor as a primary point of contact and advocate Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred but not required) What We're Looking For Positive, enthusiastic attitude Team-oriented mindset High level of reliability and strong attendance record Commitment to providing exceptional patient experiences What We Offer On-site training for the right candidate Competitive benefits package Supportive and friendly work environment Opportunity to grow within a respected ophthalmology practice How to Apply Please submit your resume and cover letter for consideration.
