Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
Minimum of 3 years radiology clinical experience or scheduling with advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, radiology procedures and preparations. Extensive knowledge of Interventional procedures and sedation/anesthesia cases is required. A team player with proven success in applying a team approach to resolve issues or accomplish goals; ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to interact effectively and in a timely manner with a wide variety of constituents.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and be able to move to patient care areas when needed. Must be able to work under required deadlines and schedules, while being flexible to special requests and projects. Must be able to work independently, as well as with others in a team environment. Must be able to prioritize work demands and organize time efficiently. Must work well under stress.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Arrive at the job on time and ready to work, projecting professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct. While maintaining a good attendance record. Maintain a good working relationship with all appropriate staff involved in the facilitation in scheduling patient examinations/procedures/screening and answering any questions they may have regarding said procedures. Transcribe all imaging orders in a timely fashion, adhering to department standards, including pre-screening consultations with providers to assess patient eligibility for screening or procedure requirements. Coordinate designated modality workflow for eligible patients, ensuring adherence to screening protocols and guidelines, including initial, subsequent scheduling and all follow-up documentation in compliance of the workflow. Schedule and coordinate invasive procedures such as biopsies and interventional radiology exams in collaboration with radiologists and other healthcare providers. Screens all patient's charts for allergies, necessary bloodwork, blood thinners, and any pre-procedure imaging required for the exam. Completes and reviews documentation for accuracy and completion prior to delivery to DI RN/Provider/Nurse Navigator. Maintain documentation of pre-screening assessments, screening results, and recommendations provided to patients. Communicate with patients to explain scheduling procedures, obtain necessary pre-procedure information, and address any questions or concerns. Provide patients with instructions for preparation prior to scheduled procedures and ensure understanding of pre-procedure requirements. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to patient confidentiality and record keeping. Complete and review documentation for accuracy prior to transcription and scheduling of examinations. Participate in quality assurance initiatives aimed at optimizing scheduling processes and improving overall service delivery. Respond appropriately to inquiries and complaints while working directly with the Manager of Radiology/Cardiology Systems to deliver disciplinary action, as needed. Support Sky Lakes Medical Center's Mission and Vision, as well as the expectations of the Diagnostic Imaging department.
