40hrs/Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm)

$1,000 after 90 days The following information is designed to outline the essential functions and position requirements of this job. It does not identify all tasks that may be expected, nor address the performance standards that must be maintained.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Schedules all procedures utilizing requests from surgeons, and/or their office personnel, according to established clinic policies. Performs a variety of clerical and record-keeping tasks related to The Portland Clinic's patient scheduling and pre-operative testing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
) 1. Accurately schedule requested procedures, using specific policies and procedures.
  • 2. Assist with preparing paper charts for patients as needed. 3. Make accurate and timely adjustments to the surgery schedule, including additions, cancellations, and other changes. Communicate these changes appropriately to charge nurses if necessary. 4. Demonstrate flexibility and prioritize work to meet the needs of the surgery center.
  • 5. Answer telephone using proper telephone courtesy, taking and delivering messages in an accurate and timely manner.
  • 6. Provide back up for receptionist during breaks and meal periods.
  • 7. Check in and register patients as needed. 8. Assist visitors, staff and physicians utilizing good guest relations.
  • 9. Perform a variety of clerical duties, as assigned.
  • 10. Attend staff meetings.
  • 11. Uses appropriate use of PPE for patient care and other settings where required.
  • 12. Be an active participant in committees (i.e. Safety Committee, Infection Control).
  • 13. Participate in orienting new staff.
  • 14. Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.
  • 15. Understand hazard risk and demonstrate complete understating of established emergency procedures for the Surgery Center.
  • 16. Reports incidences or issues through chain of command and maintains confidentiality. Complete all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
  • 17. Assist/floats to other departments as needed. 18. Follows rights of medication administration, appropriately signs out medications.
  • 19. Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business.
  • 20. Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, patients and vendors.

REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent Current CPR Certification
