Job Description
Poplar Family Dentistry is looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Dental Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an important role in creating a smooth experience for our patients and keeping the daily schedule organized and productive. We are looking for someone who communicates warmly, pays close attention to details, and takes ownership of tasks from beginning to completion. The ideal candidate remains calm when the office is busy and enjoys helping both patients and coworkers. Responsibilities Answer phone calls and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments accurately Maintain a productive schedule while allowing appropriate time for each procedure Fill openings by contacting patients from the waitlist, recall list, and unscheduled treatment list Help patients understand appointment expectations and office policies Monitor the schedule throughout the day and communicate changes promptly Coordinate with the dentist, hygienists, assistants, and front office team Update patient information and document communication accurately Follow up on incomplete scheduling tasks and patient requests Complete assigned responsibilities without leaving unresolved tasks for the next day Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements What We Are Looking For Dependable, punctual, and consistent attendance Honest, accountable, and able to take ownership of mistakes Strong organization and attention to detail Excellent phone and customer service skills Ability to multitask without losing accuracy Comfortable communicating with different personalities Team-oriented and willing to assist where needed Dental scheduling or dental front office experience is preferred Experience with Open Dental and Weave is helpful but not required
