Job Description
Visitor Services Associate (Friday-Sunday, 15-20 hrs/week) The Visitor Services role is responsible for supporting safe, clean, and welcoming experiences across the workshop, exhibit floor, and public spaces. This role ensures that visitors, members, and volunteers feel supported and engaged while maintaining the overall function, organization, and readiness of the space. This position sits at the intersection of operations and visitor experience. It requires a strong on-the-ground presence, balancing attentive guest service with proactive upkeep of the environment. This is a part-time position covering Friday through Sunday shifts, approximately 15-20 hours per week. The Visitor Services role reports directly to the Operations Manager to ensure the space is consistently prepared, functional, and aligned with organizational standards. Responsibilities Guest & Member Experience Provide a welcoming, informed, and supportive experience for all visitors and members. Provide excellent customer service throughout the facility, assisting with questions, wayfinding, and overall experience Maintain a strong, attentive presence across both the desk and the floor, ensuring the desk remains consistently covered Support check-ins, transactions, memberships, and general guest services using relevant systems Promote programs, events, and offerings in a natural and informed way Serve as a point of contact for general inquiries, directing questions to the appropriate team members as needed Floor Operations & Environment Maintain a safe, clean, and operationally ready environment across all public-facing spaces. Monitor the floor regularly to identify safety concerns, offer assistance, and ensure spaces are functioning as intended Support a clean, organized, and welcoming environment across exhibits, workshops, and shared spaces Guide safe and respectful use of the space, offering direction to visitors as needed Ensure spaces are prepared for programs, classes, and daily operations Communicate any issues, damages, or concerns to the appropriate staff member in a timely manner Operational Support & Systems Support the behind-the-scenes functions that keep the organization running smoothly. Assist with daily operational tasks including transactions, reporting, and system use (Mindbody, Roller, Salesforce, etc.) Support basic maintenance and upkeep tasks across workshop areas as trained Assist with inventory awareness and restocking needs in public-facing areas Contribute to daily logs and internal communication to ensure continuity across shifts Support special projects and organizational initiatives as needed Qualifications Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to take initiative and remain engaged without constant direction High level of attention to detail and awareness of surroundings Ability to balance multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment Comfort learning and using multiple systems and tools Team-oriented with a willingness to support across departments Alignment with the mission of Discovery Space & The Rivet Friday-Sunday Availability required $15-16/hour
