full-time Gift Processing Coordinator New York, NY (Downtown Manhattan) Hybrid Role (In Office + Work from Home) Overview Our client, a national not-for-profit organization, is seeking a Development Coordinator Consultant to support its Principal & Major Gifts team in New York City. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, gift processing, donor services, advancement services, or a related area. The Development Coordinator Consultant will provide hands-on operational support to the Major Gifts team during a busy fundraising period, helping ensure gifts are processed accurately, donor records are properly maintained, and important administrative and fundraising activities are completed efficiently and on time. This is a consulting opportunity and a hybrid role, with the organization's HQ based in Downtown Manhattan in New York City. Core Responsibilities
- Support the processing and quality control of charitable gifts, pledges, and other financial transactions.
- Ensure gift and donor information is accurately entered, coded, and maintained in accordance with organizational, financial, auditing, and reporting requirements.
- Assist with the preparation and timely delivery of donor acknowledgments and tax receipts.
- Work closely with members of the Principal & Major Gifts Operations team on day-to-day operational projects and requests.
- Coordinate with Development, Finance, Revenue Operations, Digital Fundraising, Foundations, Gift Planning, and other internal teams to ensure gifts to the organization are properly processed and recorded.
- Manage and respond to Operations Team requests through Asana.
- Help maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date electronic donor records and departmental files.
- Support the preparation, assembly, and execution of fundraising and appeal mailings.
- Assist with additional fundraising operations and administrative projects as needed. Key Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, advancement services, gift processing, donor services, or a related area preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with donor databases, CRM platforms, or other relational database systems.
- Strong Google Workspace skills.
- Experience with Excel and Salesforce is highly preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential donor and financial information with discretion and the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
