This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work. Applicants must be able to work in person in Laredo and travel locally as needed. Join Our Compassionate Team! Alfa Home Health & Hospice is looking for a Home Health Intake & Authorization Specialist to join our growing team in Laredo, Texas. In this role, you will play an important part in coordinating new patient intake, managing insurance authorizations, scheduling services, and ensuring patients receive the appropriate support and care in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable communicating with patients, insurance providers, clinicians, and healthcare partners. What You'll Do Handle and coordinate new patient intake, including gathering, reviewing, and maintaining required patient information and documentation Process, submit, and follow up on insurance authorizations Coordinate and manage patient schedules and service appointments Verify and review Medicare insurance coverage, benefits, and requirements Communicate with patients, insurance providers, clinicians, referral sources, and other members of the healthcare team Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient, intake, scheduling, and authorization records Follow up on pending referrals, authorizations, and other intake-related matters Assist with other administrative and operational tasks related to Home Health services What We're Looking For At least 2 years of Home Health experience Experience with patient intake, scheduling, and coordination Strong experience handling insurance authorizations Strong knowledge of Medicare insurance, benefits, and requirements Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Ability to work independently and effectively in an on-site environment Experience with Home Health software/EMR systems, such as Axxess , is a plus but not required Ability to travel locally as needed What We Offer 80 hours of PTO annually Opportunity to work with a growing Home Health company Stable, long-term employment opportunity Meaningful work supporting patients and the local community Working Environment This is an on-site position based in Laredo, Texas .
