Independent Construction Scheduler (1099 Contractor)

Federal Construction / Government Contracting Overview Grose Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to provide scheduling support on federal construction projects. This position is ideal for an independent consultant with strong Microsoft Project experience and a thorough understanding of federal construction requirements. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and update project schedules for multiple task orders and construction projects at Department of Defense and other federal installations. Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive baseline schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Create and maintain Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
- Prepare monthly schedule updates and progress reports.
- Analyze schedule impacts, delays, and recovery plans.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.
- Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks.
- Assist with time extension requests and schedule narratives.
- Participate in project meetings virtually and occasionally in person.
- Provide schedule forecasts and completion projections.
- Support proposal efforts with preliminary and execution schedules. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction scheduling experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project.
- Experience supporting federal construction projects.
- Strong understanding of CPM scheduling principles.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with USACE, GSA, VA, or DoD projects.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Experience with MATOC, SATOC, and task order contracts.
- Familiarity with RMS/QCS scheduling requirements. Compensation
