Job Description

Aya Healthcare is seeking a Patient Service Specialist in East Lansing, Michigan for a 3 month contract! •Remote option for local candidates ONLY! •
MUST HAVE EPIC EXPERIENCE!
Position Details Location:
East Lansing, MI-onsite option with possible remote option
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00
PM Pay:
$23-25 per hour
Contract:
13 Weeks with potential to extend or convert to permanent Responsibilities Accurately transcribe diagnostic imaging orders received via fax into the electronic scheduling system. Perform order entry for ancillary procedures including diagnostic imaging, MRI, CT, PET scans, cardiology, pulmonary function testing (PFT), EEG, and other specialty exams. Enter ICD-10 diagnosis codes accurately for scheduling and billing purposes. Verify medical necessity requirements during order entry. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Collect, review, and validate insurance authorizations prior to scheduling services. Ensure physician orders are complete and accurate before processing. Maintain accurate patient records while following HIPAA and organizational policies. Collaborate with physician offices, scheduling teams, and clinical staff to resolve order discrepancies. Provide excellent customer service while managing a high-volume workload. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. At least one (1) year of clerical or medical secretary experience in a healthcare setting OR one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience that includes order entry and insurance authorization. Minimum one (1) year of data entry and/or customer service experience. Strong computer, data entry, and word processing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to accurately enter medical information in a fast-paced environment. Must successfully pass a medical terminology assessment with a score of 80% or higher. Must successfully pass a typing test (35 WPM) or data entry assessment (7,000 keystrokes per hour). Preferred Experience Experience processing diagnostic imaging or ancillary testing orders. Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization processes. Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding. Previous experience working in a hospital or outpatient healthcare setting.
