Position:
Scheduler Pay Rate:
$25.33/hour
Duration:
13 weeks with opportunity to convert to perm
Schedule:
Day shift (5×8 Hours) 8am to 4:45pm
IMPORTANT CALL OUTS
Temp-to-perm opportunity Candidates should be willing to convert to permanent employment at an FTE pay range of $19-$25/hour Position supports diagnostic imaging, radiology, and interventional radiology scheduling Strong preference for candidates with hospital-based radiology or procedural scheduling experience Candidates should be comfortable scheduling more complex diagnostic and interventional procedures Position requires frequent patient interaction in a call-center environment Strong customer service, professionalism, and patient empathy are important Initial training will be onsite Hybrid work may be available following successful completion of training based on department needs Virtual interview via Microsoft Teams Equipment will be provided, including computer, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, headset, and camera
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of healthcare scheduling experience with direct exposure to radiology, diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, cath lab, or similar procedural scheduling Experience communicating directly with patients regarding appointment scheduling and preparation Experience working within a healthcare, hospital, physician practice, imaging center, or comparable clinical environment
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong knowledge of medical terminology Experience using healthcare scheduling and electronic medical record systems Ability to navigate multiple systems while communicating with patients and clinical teams Cerner experience preferred Strong computer and data-entry skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Strong customer service and patient communication skills Ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism Comfortable working in a high-volume, phone-based/call-center environment Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately schedule procedures with multiple requirements Ability to prioritize competing scheduling needs and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physician offices, clinical teams, and other internal departments Reliable attendance and ability to adhere to the established department schedule Hospital-based scheduling experience strongly preferred Experience scheduling diagnostic or interventional procedures such as biopsies, port placements, and similar procedures strongly preferred Must maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Must have a dedicated HIPAA-compliant workspace for any approved remote work
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule diagnostic imaging, radiology, interventional radiology, cath lab, and related procedures according to established department protocols Coordinate appointments requiring multiple steps, resources, providers, or clinical considerations Schedule procedures such as biopsies, port placements, and other diagnostic or interventional services as applicable Communicate directly with patients to coordinate appointments, explain scheduling information, and provide appropriate appointment instructions. Provide compassionate, professional customer service while assisting patients throughout the scheduling process Review scheduling information for completeness and accuracy prior to finalizing appointments Confirm that required information is available to support appropriate scheduling of procedures Communicate with physician offices, clinical staff, and other departments when additional information or clarification is required Escalate scheduling concerns or clinical questions to the appropriate team when needed Accurately document appointment information and patient communications within scheduling and electronic medical record systems Navigate multiple systems and scheduling workflows while maintaining accuracy and productivity Support incoming and outgoing scheduling calls within a call-center-based environment Assist with rescheduling, cancellations, and other appointment changes while minimizing disruption to patients and clinical operations Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies Participate in training, weekly huddles, team meetings, and department communications Collaborate with team members to support department scheduling volumes and patient access needs Perform other scheduling-related duties as assigned based on department needs This particular client is requiring that all new hires show proof of vaccination.
