JOB SUMMARY

The Diagnostic Imaging Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling diagnostic imaging, radiology, interventional radiology, cath lab, and related procedures in accordance with established department protocols. This role manages complex appointments involving multiple providers, resources, and clinical considerations while ensuring scheduling information is complete and accurate. The Scheduler serves as a key point of contact for patients, providing compassionate and professional customer service, appointment instructions, and assistance with scheduling changes, cancellations, and rescheduling. The position requires communication with physician offices, clinical teams, and other departments to obtain necessary information and resolve scheduling questions or concerns. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating multiple scheduling and electronic medical record systems in a fast-paced, call-center-based environment. Responsibilities also include accurately documenting patient communications, maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality, participating in team meetings and training, and collaborating with colleagues to support patient access and department scheduling needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of healthcare scheduling experience with direct exposure to radiology, diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, cath lab, or similar procedural scheduling Experience communicating directly with patients regarding appointment scheduling and preparation Experience working within a healthcare, hospital, physician practice, imaging center, or comparable clinical environment
