Facilities Manager / Operations Manager / Arena Manager / General Manager Position Summary The Rink Operations Associate is responsible for maintaining safe, high-quality ice conditions and supporting the overall cleanliness, appearance, and operation of the facility. This position operates ice resurfacing equipment, performs janitorial and maintenance tasks, and helps ensure a positive experience for all guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ice Maintenance Operate the Zamboni (ice resurfacer) safely and efficiently before, during, and after ice sessions. Assist Senior Management in scheduled ice maintenance cuts and edging tasks Monitor ice conditions and make adjustments as needed. Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of ice resurfacing equipment. Maintain hockey nets, benches, penalty boxes, dasher boards, and protective glass. Assist with ice installation, removal, and seasonal maintenance projects. Any and all duties as assigned. Facility Operations & Event Support Set up and tear down equipment for hockey games, tournaments, public skating sessions, birthday parties, and special events. Assist with crowd flow, customer service, and operational support during events. Report facility issues, safety concerns, and equipment needs to management. Assist at the front desk and with public skate staff as needed. Any and all duties as assigned. Facility Maintenance & Janitorial Responsibilities Record Ice Plant and IAQ readings on established schedule as needed. Perform routine janitorial duties throughout the facility, including locker rooms, restrooms, lobby areas, bleachers, and common spaces. Conduct regular restroom inspections and restock paper products, soap, and other supplies. Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and high-traffic areas. Maintain cleanliness of locker rooms and team areas between user groups. Assist with facility opening and closing procedures: Key holder as needed. Perform general building upkeep, minor repairs, painting, and maintenance projects as assigned. Support outdoor facility maintenance, including snow removal, salting walkways, and grounds upkeep when needed. Ensure the facility presents a clean, safe, and professional appearance at all times. Assist with seasonal maintenance projects. Any and all duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience operating a Zamboni or similar equipment preferred; training may be provided. Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in cold temperatures for extended periods. Ability to safely operate equipment and perform physical labor. Schedule Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and tournament schedules.
